Those past 3 months have passed by very quickly!

For the first 9 days my vision was slightly blurry and the halos I experienced were quite strong during the evening with regards to car headlights, streetlights and numbers/letters. About 10 days after the operation, when I woke up, my sight improved significantly and then for the following 1.5 months my sight gradually improved. I haven’t noticed a great deal of improvement over the past 2-3 weeks.

Early on, between 2-4 weeks after the operation, I tested my vision with a Snellen chart on my computer screen. 

Left Eye: I measured approximately- 0.25, to -0.5 but mostly 0.25.  (20/25, 20/30) 

Right Eye: I measured approximately 0, to -0.25. (20/20, 20/25)

Slight double vision or halo around the letters.

I had strong halos or starbursts for the first few weeks after the operation. When I looked at the app icons on my mobile phone it was quite apparent.

I still have those, mostly from car headlights and streetlights to a lesser extent, but thankfully they have reduced significantly in size and impact.

My night vision was affected, and is still worse in areas of low light and during the evening but much better now than it was 2 months ago. In natural light, my vision is very good when trying to focus on letters/numbers.

2 months ago when I looked at car registration plates, I got double vision; this still remains but is far better now than it was back then.

I don’t know if it’s due to my right eye dominance but I find if I close my right eye, my left eye will be slightly out of focus. After 10-20 seconds, my left eye improves but the vision is still not as clear as my right eye.

I just did another Snellen test on my computer today and my vision has further improved as I suspected.

Left Eye: I measured approximately 0 (20/20) I could see 20/15 but not that clearly. 

Right Eye: I measured approximately 0 to 0.25 (20/20-20/15)

I find that if I slightly squint or partially close my eyelids there is less of a halo effect around letters or numbers.

I still get slight double vision (halo around the edges of the letters/numbers) that are viewed at a distance but it is far better than it was 2 months ago. The halo around the apps on my phone have also decreased significantly.

I used eye drops almost every day, but usually only once in the morning, up until a few days ago. I haven’t used eye drops over the last few days. My eyes are slightly dry in the morning when I wake up but after that they are fine. The dryness has gradually got better over the past 3 months but they were never very dry in the first place.

I intend to book an eye test appointment locally in the next week or so, so will report back to you how that goes.

Overall, I am very pleased with the result and the freedom from glasses and contact lenses.
